I Do(n't)

A One Act
One Woman Show

by Composer/Librettist Renate B. Pluym

If we do not recognise boundaries, we do not acknowledge ownership. If we do not acknowledge ownership, we step into the territory of another without permission, as though that person has no intrinsic claim to their own lives.”

I Do(n't)

I Do(n’t) is a song cycle/one woman show that explores personal agency in toxic relationships. Thought-provoking and challenging, I Do(n’t) explores our own role, individually and collectively, in the making and breaking of damaging romantic attachments. Deeply heartfelt, humorously ironic, and brutally honest, I Do(n’t) consists of 9 songs that offer the audience an artistic naming of the relationally unnamed.
