Guerilla Writing Collective

I am beyond excited!! I've just found out that I have been selected by Boston-based opera company Guerilla Opera to participate in their Guerilla Writing Collective, which is a program that supports artists (librettists, composers, and the like) in the development of their libretto. When I read on their website that they engage in "rebellious works of opera theater" in order to challenge the status quo, address social issues and to empower the marginalised, I knew that I had to apply! So I am sharing with you the start of what will be an eight month journey of development of the libretto of my one woman show 'I Do(n't)', which is about personal agency in toxic relationships. Being accepted into the program is an encouragement on this journey, which has required courage and more than a couple of deep breaths. It's also a good reminder that there really is no need to dilute the artistic wine.
